Steffans Legal and Fair Work P.C. Secure Preliminary Approval of Class Action Settlement in Time-Rounding Case

On January 26, 2024, Judge Wrenn of the Worcester County Superior Court granted preliminary approval of a class action settlement in the case of Oliveira v. Table Talk Pies, Inc. Earlier, we had secured summary judgment in this case. You can read more about that here. In short, this case concerns the employer practice of rounding time punches and if those employers violate the Massachusetts Wage Act when the rounding doesn’t even out over time.
